Pumpkin Spice Biscuits |

by Sue Burkhard 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup cornmeal 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 1/2 cup canned pumpkin 1 large egg, slightly beaten 1 cup water Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Mix flours, cornmeal, sugar, and spices in large bowl. Add pumpkin, egg, and water. Knead dough with hands until smooth and stiff. Roll dough out and use cutters to cut biscuits. place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 30-45 minutes until lightly brown. Turn oven to 150-degree (or low/warm setting) and leave in oven for 4-5 hours until hard.
